US Economist told Trump’s tariff decision foolishly destroyed

Famous American economist and Professor Jeffrey de Sachs of Columbia University has fiercely criticized the decision of US President Donald Trump for imposing tariffs on India. He said that this decision is not strategic but destructive. He described it as the most silly strategic move of US foreign policy. He said that this tariff has not only caused a deep injury to Indo-US relations, but has also affected global alliances.

Sachs said that by putting 25% penalty tariffs, the US gave Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa a great opportunity to unite. Within 24 to 48 hours of the tariff being imposed, the contact between these countries intensified. This further strengthened the BRICS countries, damaging America’s strategic interests. He taunted that President Trump proved to be a great person to unite BRICS countries.

American leaders attacked
During the interview, Sachs also targeted American leaders. He called Senator Lindsay Graham as the most vulnerable senator and fool in America. He disqualified Trump’s former business advisor Peter Navarro. Sachs said that advisors like Navaro weakened the US foreign policy and hurt America’s credibility in the world.

America-India relations damage
Sachs warned that the effect of these tariffs will last long. India, which could have become strategic and diplomatic partner for America, will be a cause of great loss on it. Indians have now learned the lesson that you cannot trust America. Sachs said that even if the tariffs are removed tomorrow, the image of America has deteriorated in India’s mind.

No positive result of tariff
Jeffre de Sachs has described the tariff as completely failed. He said that there was no benefit from them in bringing any country to the conversation table. On the contrary, it weakened the aspect of the US foreign policy over the years.
