UPSC made a big change in civil service exam process, it is very important for you to know

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has made significant changes in the application process for the preliminary examination of Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2025. This change has been made after complaints of technical disturbances from the candidates. Keeping these problems in mind, the Commission has reduced the final date of the application to 18 February 2025.

Editing facility will be available under changes

UPSC It has now been provided the facility to edit some entries in the online application. However, this amendment can be done only once. According to the Commission, the application process has been improved because many candidates had complained about technical problems while filling the form. However, the Commission has clarified that the name, date of birth, father’s name, mother’s name, mobile number and email ID will not be allowed to be replaced in One Time Registration (OTR) profile.

Mobile number and email ID will change

If a candidate is not able to reach his registered mobile number but the email ID is available, then he can apply to change the mobile number. In this process, an OTP will be sent on the email ID, which can be entered and the new mobile number can be updated. If a candidate does not have access to registered email ID, but he can use his mobile number, then he can change the email ID with this process.

What to do if both mobile and email are not available?

If a candidate is unable to reach both his registered mobile number and email ID. So with the documents mentioned below, the UPSC will have to send a request. These documents will have to be scanned and sent email to otrupsc@gov.in in the prescribed format.

• Tenth grade certificate
• Aadhar Card / PAN Card / Passport / Driving License
• Latest passport size photo

• Amendment facility: available only once
