India’s vibrant culture, stunning landscapes, and rich heritage have long drawn international vloggers eager to capture and share their experiences with the world. Recently, UK content creator Edd Owen joined the list, posting an “honest review” of his time exploring New Delhi — particularly its metro system — on Instagram. In his video, Owen praised the Delhi Metro as “reliable and well-connected,” encouraging fellow travellers to ditch overpriced rides from local rickshaw drivers, who, he claimed, often scam tourists.

The clip kicks off with the bold text, “First impression of Delhi Metro,” as Owen shares his initial thoughts: “You assume when you come to Delhi, it will be tuk-tuk drivers trying to rip you off, smelly, trash everywhere. What no one tells you is that they have a very clean, efficient, reliable, and well-connected metro system.”

Owen goes on to highlight the metro’s perks — from smooth rides to affordable tickets — even showcasing station surprises like KFC, Adidas, and Crocs outlets. In the caption, he playfully wrote: “Why let yourself get scammed by Tuk Tuk drivers when you can get the metro in Delhi?”

The video, upon being shared, prompted reactions from netizens who found the information “insightful.” One of the individuals commented on the clip and wrote, “Same in Mumbai. Try the local or metro instead of a taxi or rickshaw. It’s too expensive for a rickshaw or taxi.” Another, seemingly impressed with the development of the Delhi metro, joined in to add, “Too many options for food and utilities everywhere, which is a very good development in recent times. These amenities weren’t available 10 years ago.”

A user thanked the content creator for educating people and sharing insights while also requesting him to make a video about the new Indian Railways, like the Vande Bharat Express and the sophisticated AC coaches. He added, “It’s amazing how one can travel from Kashmir to Kanyakumari in comfort, covering the length of the country, for just around $60!”

The video is being widely shared on social media, garnering thousands of views and hundreds of likes from users online.
