With viral videos of unruly behaviour and strange antics on board, the Delhi Metro has often come under scrutiny. But now a video showing the Delhi Metro in a positive light has surfaced online.
A UK-based content creator named Alex on his recent visit to India explored Delhi and took a ride on the metro. In a video, Alex is seen entering the train at the Rajeev Chowk metro station. He looks around and goes, “Wow.”
The video then cuts to scenes from the station: a clean and spacious platform, a well-maintained kiosk, smooth-running escalators, passengers boarding the train and a closing metro gate. The caption over the video reads, “POV: Delhi’s metro is nicer than the London Underground.”

It didn’t take long for the clip to get noticed and soon it garnered over six lakh views. Many were thrilled to see the Delhi Metro being praised by someone from outside the country.
One user commented, “Finally, someone said it.”
Another added, “As someone currently in the UK, Delhi Metro is so so so much better.”
A person noted, “Proud to be Indian. I just hope we will keep it that way without trashing, making it dirty and spitting everywhere. Would be nice if people start taking showers and show up clean, and stop being so loud on public transport, stop talking on the phone. Honestly, so much growth is yet to come but this is the step in the right direction.”
“All metro stations in India are good,” read another comment while an individual shared, “Indian metros are generally much better. Have travelled quite a bit in US and London, Indian metro easily beats it.”
Earlier, a German vlogger shared a similar experience. In his video, he remarked that “India’s metro is better than Western Europe’s.”
