India has discontinued the facility of transmission for Bangladesh. With this facility, he used to export goods in many countries using Indian land. The Ministry of External Affairs says that there was a lot of congestion due to transmission on Indian airports and ports, due to which our own exports were delayed and backlog.
The Ministry of External Affairs said that for a long time, the Aperail Export Promotion Council was demanding the closure of the transmission facility of Bangladesh, which has now been accepted. However, under the previous system, the Bangladeshi export cars have entered India, they are allowed to shipment. In the year 2020, the Government of India provided transmission facility to Bangladesh, under which its export goods were sent to Nepal, Bhutan, Myanmar and other countries through Indian land.
The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) issued a notification on 8 April and eliminated this facility with immediate effect, after which it was discussed that now Bangladesh will not be able to export goods to these countries. However, Foreign Ministry spokesman Randhir Jaiswal has made it clear that Dhaka can export in Nepal and Bhutan through India.
This decision of the Government of India is being linked to Mohammad Yunus’s statement in which he appealed to China for economic expansion citing the northeastern states. Last month, Bangladesh’s Chief Advisor Mohammad Yunus was on a tour of China, here on March 28, he appealed to China to increase business and produce in Bangladesh, so that his country would get economic benefits. He had said that the seven northeastern states of India are landlocked i.e. surrounded by land, so they do not have access to the sea. He said that Bangladesh is the only patron of the sea in this entire region, so it can be an extension for the Chinese economy.
Mohammad Yunus also asked China to produce in Bangladesh and take things to the market, establish factories. He also invited China to revive the airbase in Lalmanirhat. Lalmanirhat district is not far from Siliguri Corridor or Chicken Neck in Bengal. Chicken neck is felt by the borders of Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan and China.
