There are many countries in the world, which celebrate Christmas festival on 7 January instead of 25 December. The date is based on the Julian calendar, which is 13 days behind the Gregorian calendar used in most of the world. The Christmas celebrated on this day is called Orthodox.

The Russian Orthodox Church follows the Julian calendar, making January 7 its official Christmas Day.

Ethiopians celebrate Christmas as Ganna, a spiritual holiday on January 7. On this day people go to church wearing traditional clothes.
