Coldplay’s much-anticipated return to India after nine years kicked off with a bang in Mumbai. The recent Coldplay concerts in Mumbai on January 18 and 19 witnessed a massive crowd and left fans mesmerised by the British rock band’s spectacular performance. While many had a blast at the event, a sorrowful incident involving misplaced concert tickets garnered attention online. The incident was shared on social media by a fan who was eagerly anticipating the show.
Prachi Singh took to Instagram to share her heartbreaking story about how she lost her tickets just before the concert. The text description of the video read, “Coldplay ke tickets kachre mein chale gaye.” In the video caption, she wrote, “Yes, so this disaster happened. Yesterday we got two Coldplay tickets and they were kept in a wrapper on the dining table. Today we got ready; the driver was waiting and while leaving we couldn’t find the bands and our maid said that they were thrown away while cleaning.”
The viral clip shows Prachi in anguish as sanitation workers search through the trash for the missing tickets. “The building staff were so kind; they actually helped us search through all the garbage disposed of that day. It’s okay, guys. I guess it wasn’t meant to be this time,” she further added. Prachi sarcastically tagged the band in her Instagram post and urged them for replacement tickets, writing, “@coldplay pls give two tickets.”
Since being posted, the video has gone viral and amassed over five million views and 46,000 likes. The clip has also garnered hundreds of comments, with many sharing their sympathy and disbelief. A user wrote, “What a nightmare before the concert! I feel so bad for her.” Another added, “How could this happen? Such a heart-breaking story.” Someone else mentioned, “Maybe it wasn’t meant to be. Better luck next time.” A person also stated, “What kind of management these days doesn’t send tickets on your mail/WhatsApp.”
As part of the “Music of the Spheres World Tour,” the band will next perform at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on January 21. On the other hand, the Ahmedabad concert is scheduled to take place on January 25 and 26 at the Narendra Modi Stadium. The January 26 show will be streamed live on Disney Hotstar.
