Countless weddings have taken place this wedding season. And, one of the essentials of a wedding is an invitation card. Families spare no expense in crafting one that outshines all others.
Occasionally, the content of these invitations becomes a topic of discussion. Recently, a family’s wedding invitation has gained attention online. The groom’s family distributed this intriguing invitation to their guests, featuring a detail that has sparked debate and even apprehension.
An image of this wedding invitation surfaced on the Facebook page of Faiq Ateeq Kidwai. The wedding is scheduled for February 9, 2025, in Jaipur. While the rest of the invitation appears standard, the ‘Darshanabihilashi‘ section has captured everyone’s attention.
In no, ‘Darshanabihilashi‘ translates to ‘those eagerly awaiting your presence’. Typically, this section lists the names of close family members, such as the couple’s parents, siblings, or uncles, who eagerly anticipate the guests’ arrival. However, this particular invitation deviates from the norm by featuring the names of deceased individuals under ‘Darshanabihilashi‘.
The card reads: “Late Noorul Haq, Late Lalu Haq, Late Babu Haq, Late Ejaz Haq.” Following these names are the names of living relatives. The wedding is set to take place in Karbala Maidan, Jaipur. The invitation outlines the schedule for February 8 and February 9. Certain sections are obscured, rendering them illegible.
The invitation has gone viral, garnering over 600 likes and more than 100 comments. One individual commented, “It’s quite common in Jodhpur and Jaipur to print such cards. I received one recently with four deceased individuals listed as ‘waiting to be seen’.”
