People usually have two keys for important things like a house, a vehicle or a locker. One key is for regular use and the other is kept as a backup in case of emergencies. But what happens when one of the keys is lost? Well, the obvious solution is to get a duplicate made. For that, people usually visit a locksmith. However, getting a duplicate key from a locksmith is not always a quick process. It takes time and sometimes, one might even have to wait for hours or revisit the shop. But a video that has surfaced online shows an alternative method for duplicating keys that is faster and more convenient. A man in the US has shared a reel on Instagram which shows how a vending machine can make a duplicate key within minutes.
The Instagram reel was shared by a man named Tanvir Shaikh, who lives in the US. In the video, he holds up a key and says, “Guys, I have come to get a duplicate key.” He then walks towards a vending machine which looks similar to an ATM but is designed specifically to create copies of keys.
As he approaches the machine, he taps on the screen to begin the process. The screen then displays different categories of keys that can be duplicated. The options include standard keys, vehicle keys, key fobs, access cards and special keys. Tanvir selects the standard option since he wants a basic copy only.
Next, he is instructed to insert his key into a slot for scanning. Once the object is inserted, the machine scans its shape and pattern. After scanning, the screen asks him to choose the type of key he wants. There are different designs available which include brass and customised designer keys. Tanvir selects the brass option.
After choosing the type, he is given the option to select the number of copies he wants. Tanvir chooses two keys. Then, he proceeds to the payment section and completes the transaction. The machine begins processing the order. Within minutes, the vending machine dispenses three keys instead of two. Tanvir explains in the video that he had selected two keys but he received a third one for free.
“Chabi wala in the USA,” Tanvir wrote in the caption.
