Videos of individuals identifying as different animals, such as dogs and cats, and mimicking their behaviour in public places have gone viral on Instagram, often leaving viewers surprised. However, a recent incident in Queensland, Australia, has raised serious concerns about how far such behaviour can go.
According to The New York Posta high school teacher at Marsden State High School in Logan City, Queensland, has reportedly identified as a cat, exhibited feline behaviour in front of students, and is now facing an investigation.
Several parents voiced concerns on social media, claiming that the teacher hissed at students, licked her hands during lessons, wore fake cat ears, and insisted on being called ‘Miss Purr’.
Photos and videos, first published by The Courier-Mailshow the teacher wearing a cat ear headband and a lanyard with the word ‘Purr’ while addressing a classroom.
A student’s family member commented on Facebook, “She forces the children to call her Miss Purr and screeches and growls like a cat when they don’t listen.”
According to a report by The New York Postthe same relative stated, “She sits in class and licks her hands. It’s absolutely disgusting. Something needs to be done about this.”
