The video shared on Instagram shows a baby seeing his mum clearly for the first time ever.

A baby’s first clear look at his mother has captured the internet’s heart in the most touching way. In a video posted to Instagram, a baby boy can be seen squirming as his mother gently tries to place a tiny pair of glasses on his face. At first, he is fussy and unsure, until the glasses settle properly and his world suddenly comes into focus.
What follows is pure magic. His expression changes in an instant. A wide smile spreads across his face, followed by soft giggles and a gaze locked firmly on his mother. It is as if he is truly seeing her for the first time and falling in love all over again.
The clip was captioned, “The amazing moment a baby sees his mother for the first time after getting glasses.” The video soon went viral and it has since melted hearts on the internet.
One user commented that the little boy was overjoyed to see his mother and wrote, “Bless him!”
Another noted that the kid approved of the yellow colour on his walker.
Someone wrote, “I know he’s seeing everything, humans, colours in 4k all at once.”
A user commented they loved the videos of kids receiving glasses and hearing devices which enables them “to see and hear for the first time”.
Many even reflected on the privilege of sight. A commenter wrote, “You never know how fortunate you are until you can’t do the most basic things. Always be thankful.”
Who is the baby in the video?
The video first went viral almost a decade ago and features baby Leo Reppond, who was diagnosed with oculocutaneous albinism, a rare genetic condition affecting the colour and development of the eyes, hair and skin.
As per an ABC report, the video was originally filmed by Leo’s father David who captured the moment at their then home in Washington state. Leo’s mother Erin told ABC that the joy on her then four-month-old’s face was unlike anything she had seen before. She said he was a happy kid but that smile was different.
Up until then, Leo had largely experienced the world through touch, the report said.
