Let me tell you that a few years ago, on Smita Patil’s birthday, Amitabh Bachchan had revealed that Smita Patil had already got an idea of the deadly incident with her. He mentioned an incident about this in which Smita had realized that something bad was going to happen with Big B just before the accident.
Amitabh had told during an interview, “I was shooting a coolie in Bangalore, I had a call in my hotel room late at around 2 pm. The receptionist told me that Smita Patil is on the line. I was surprised because I had never talked to him at such a time. Thinking that perhaps there would be something necessary, I responded to the call.”
Amitabh Bachchan further said, “Smita asked me if I am fine and my health is good. I replied yes and he said that he had a bad dream about me and that is why she called on such a night. The next day I became an accident.”
Amitabh Bachchan was a victim of a deadly accident
The next day i.e. on 26 July 1982, Amitabh Bachchan was seriously injured during the shooting of a fight scene with Puneet Issar. In the scene, Puneet Issar was supposed to punch Amitabh Bachchan’s stomach, but due to wrong jumping of Big B, he fell on the table and hit his stomach very loudly from the edge of the table, causing him a very deep internal injury.
Amitabh Bachchan had taken a year to recover
Due to this accident, his condition became critical. He was immediately admitted to Breach Candy Hospital, where he had several surgery. His fans from all over the country prayed for him to recover. Amitabh Bachchan’s injury was so serious that he was also declared a medical dead for a few minutes before placing him on a ventilator. Big B was hospitalized for months after this exit and it took him about a year to recover completely.
