In the realm of weddings, invitation cards hold significant cultural value, often setting the tone for the celebrations ahead. Traditionally, when a marriage is announced, the first invitation – commonly referred to as the “yellow letter” – is sent from the bride’s family to the groom’s. While most families opt for printed paper invitations, one innovative bullion trader in Uttar Pradesh’s Firozabad is revolutionising this practice with opulent gold and silver wedding cards that have sparked considerable interest.

Lucky Jindal, proprietor of Lala Ravindra Nath Kanhaiya Lal Sarafa shop, shared his insights with Local 18 about this extraordinary trend. People often overlook the sentimental worth of invitation cards, sometimes discarding them after the event, he explained. “However, these invitations should be cherished as keepsakes rather than thrown away.” Jindal emphasised that the yellow letter, a symbolic gesture in the marriage process, should be treated with respect and preserved.

Jindal noted that as the wedding season approaches, orders have already begun to flood in, with clients eager to secure these luxurious invitations.

“We’re receiving requests for various designs, and the demand for these high-end cards is growing rapidly,” he said. “People are looking for something unique that reflects their personal style and the significance of the occasion.”
