Born and brought up in Panipat, Haryana, Sonal is a 2008 batch IAS officer. He studied from Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi University and later obtained LLB degree. The interesting thing is that Sonal’s journey to join civil services was not pre-decided. It was an article he read in a magazine that introduced him to IAS as a career option. Although her family wanted her to become a Company Secretary (CS), Sonal did not deny her new interest towards civil services. She achieved her goal with hard work and dedication and became an IAS officer.
