There will be no trading in BSE-NSE on Guru Nanak Jayanti? Holidays only in next 10 days!


Stock Market Today: Investors will get some relief today amidst the continuous selling by foreign investors in the Indian stock market. Due to holiday in National Stock Exchange and BSE on the occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti, there will be no trading today, Friday 15th November. That means Indian stock markets will remain closed for the next three days.

There will be business only for 4 days in 10 days

There will be trading in the Indian stock market only for four days in the next 10 days. Today BSE and NSE are closed due to the holiday of Guru Nanak Jayanti. Saturday and Sunday are also holidays. After this, Indian stock markets will remain closed on Wednesday 20th November also. Voting will be held in Mumbai on November 20 under the assembly elections in Maharashtra, hence the stock exchange has been kept closed. That means till November 24, there will be trading in the market only for four days. Along with the stock exchange, multi-commodity exchanges will also remain closed in the first session from 9 am to 5 pm. However, MCX will remain open in the evening session.

Sensex-Nifty fell more than 10 percent

The Indian stock market had touched a lifetime high in the last week of September 2024. But since then, foreign investors have started withdrawing their money from the Indian equity market and since then continuous selling is being seen in the market. After touching the lifetime of 85,978 points, BSE Sensex has fallen to 77,580 points. That means Sensex has fallen by about 10 percent or 8400 points. National Stock Exchange’s Nifty had touched a high of 26277 points, which has fallen to 23532 points. That means Nifty has fallen by 10.44 percent from the high.

Rs 48 lakh crore of investors up in the air

Due to selling by foreign investors, investors in the Indian stock market have suffered huge losses in one and a half months. The market of stocks listed on BSE had touched a lifetime high of Rs 478 lakh crore, which has come down to Rs 430 lakh crore. That means, since September 27, 2024, investors have suffered a loss of Rs 48 lakh crore.
