There was no light of eyes, nor easy path… Still Satendra became IAS officer


Civil Services Examination … One of the most difficult exams in India. Every year millions of youth work hard day and night with this dream in their eyes, but only a few are able to succeed. Resources, coaching, internet- despite everything, there is no success. On the other hand, there are some who not only fight with lacks, but also make their weakness their strength. The story of Satendra Singh is also like this – a real inspiration filled with struggle, stubbornness and passion.

Born in a small village in Amroha district of Uttar Pradesh, Satendra’s life was full of struggles since childhood. When he was just two years old, he lost his eyesight forever due to the serious pneumonia disease. The condition of the house was not such that treatment could be done. His parents’ income depended only on farming. But Satendra did not give up.

Where to study?

After completing his schooling in some way, he came to Delhi, so that he can do further studies from good institutions. Here he learned Braille script from a government institution in Mukherjee Nagar and made it his biggest strength. After this, he graduated in Political Science from St. Stephen’s College, the prestigious St. Stephen’s College, Delhi University.

His spirits flew higher from here. He completed his Masters, then MPhil and PhD from JNU. Meanwhile, he was selected as Assistant Professor at Aurobindo College, University of Delhi. Usually, reaching here is also a dream of many, but Satendra’s dreams were much older than this.

The exam was given for the first time in 2018

In the year 2018, he passed the Civil Services Examination for the first time and secured 714th rank. But they did not approve of staying here. He took the exam again and in 2021 he was selected as an IAS officer.

Inspiration for millions

Today, Satendra is not just a successful officer, but inspiration for thousands of millions of youth. His story tells that even if the intention is strong, even the darkness cannot stop the path. He not only defeated his weakness, but also showed the country that there is no obstacle in front of determination and hard work.
