Major wildfires continue to burn across California and Los Angeles County, leaving behind a trail of destruction and affecting tens of thousands of people due to the evacuation since the blaze began. Amid reports of growing fatalities and firefighting efforts still underway across the affected regions, an old video has resurfaced from Joe Rogan’s podcast showing him predicting a deadly fire. Unusually dressed in a Los Angeles Fire Department t-shirt, Joe Rogan made mysterious predictions in a July 2024 episode of The Joe Rogan Experience.
During a conversation with Sam Morril, Rogan warned about the “right wind” that he believed would catch one of California’s many wildfires and burn through Los Angeles. The 57-year-old also explained why he left Los Angeles as he he always waiting for the next fires.
“I was evacuated three times from my house from fires. Last one, two houses in front of my house burned to the ground. It was a scary experience,” the UFC commentator said, further adding that he managed to leave with his family before an evacuation was put into effect.
During the podcast, Rogan recalled his conversation with one of the firefighters, who then said, “One day, it’s just going to be the right wind and fire’s gonna start in the right place and it’s going to burn through LA all the way to the ocean and there’s not a f–king thing we can do about it.”
Rogan also shared how the fireman believed that people in Los Angeles “get lucky with the wind.” Having admitted to being “freaked out” by the firefighter’s warning, Rogan has been echoing his concerns about Los Angeles wildfires on various episodes of his show since then. Reacting to the resurfaced video, social media users couldn’t help but call out the worsening conditions. One wrote, “It’s gonna keep happening. The planet is getting drier. The wind is getting stronger. Climate change is real,” while another added, “I wonder how many Firefighters tried to get higher-ups and policymakers to prepare for this scenario and were met with silence. Has to be a lot I would think.”
A user reshared Rogan’s old video and stated, “The California fires were perfectly predicted with insane accuracy by a firefighter that spoke to Joe Rogan.”
Fast forward to 2025, firefighters have been fighting an endless battle to douse off the out-of-control fires that have claimed 10 lives, ravaging communities and sending thousands away from their homes.
