Taliban New Law against Women : Taliban has issued a new decree against women in Afghanistan. According to the new Taliban law, new houses being built in Afghanistan should not have windows. The Taliban has made this order so that women cannot see outside the house. The supreme leader of the Taliban government has issued an order regarding this. It was said that getting a glimpse of women could lead to obscene acts.
Taliban government spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid has issued a post in this regard on X. In which it was said that new houses should not have such windows which overlook the courtyard, kitchen, neighbour’s well or any place used by women. Mujahid further said, ‘Seeing women working in the kitchen, coming and going in the verandah or taking water from the well can lead to obscene acts.’
Municipal officers and related departments will monitor
According to the Taliban government, municipal officials and other relevant departments will also monitor the new houses being built. They have to keep in mind that in these houses the windows or vents should not open towards the neighbors’ houses.
Make arrangements for already open windows
The Taliban government said that if any window or vent in any house is already open towards the neighboring house, then people will have to make arrangements for this. The owner of the house will have to either build a wall towards the window in his house or make some special arrangement so that no neighbor or outsider can see inside the house through that window.
After coming to power, Taliban is imposing restrictions on women’s rights
It is noteworthy that since August 2021, the Taliban in power in Afghanistan is imposing restrictions on women’s rights. The United Nations has also expressed objection to Taliban’s policies towards women. Taliban has banned women from working. Apart from this, girls and women have been banned from visiting primary education, parks or public places.
