
Stock Market Today: On Friday, October 17, the last trading day of the week, the Indian stock market started with a red mark. A decline was recorded in both the major indexes. The 30-share BSE Sensex index fell 135.88 points or 0.16 per cent to 83,331.78. At the same time, NSE Nifty 50 also opened trading in the red at 25,546.85 with a decline of 38.45 points or 0.15 percent. However, this decline did not last long. Shortly after the market opened, Sensex and Nifty started trading in the green.
By 9:30, the Sensex was trading at 83,577, up 108 points. Whereas Nifty 50 was trading at 25,605 after jumping 20 points.

How was the market on Thursday?
On Thursday, October 16, the fourth trading session of the week, a tremendous rally was seen in the Indian stock market and both the major indexes closed with the green mark. Sensex ended the trading day at 83,467.66 with a rise of 862.23 points or 1.04 percent, while Nifty 50 ended the trading day at 25,585.30 with a rise of 261.75 points or 1.03 percent.
Kotak Bank, Titan, Axis Bank, Adani Port, MMM were the top gainers from BSE basket. Talking about the top losers, there were Eternal, Bharti Airtel, INFY. Whereas tremendous growth was recorded in Nifty Bank, Nifty Midcap 100, Nifty Smallcap 100, Nifty Auto, Nifty FMCG and Nifty IT. On Thursday’s trading day, 27 shares from the BSE basket closed in the green and only 3 shares recorded a decline.
