A shocking incident has unfolded in Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan, where a Sub-Inspector (SI) has been apprehended by the Special Operations Group (SOG). The probationary SI had applied for leave, but the content of her application raised serious concerns among senior officers.
Cheating Scandal Exposed
The officer in question, Sub-Inspector Monika, had secured an impressive 34th rank in the 2021 SI Recruitment Exam. Her high score of 184 out of 200 in the Hindi paper was particularly noteworthy. However, her inability to correctly spell her designation in a leave application raised suspicions.
An SOG investigation revealed that Monika had used a Bluetooth device to cheat during the exam at the Ajmer centre on September 15, 2021. The mastermind of the operation, Paurav Kaleer, reportedly received Rs 15 lakh for supplying answers to Monika. As a result, Monika scored 184 out of 200 in Hindi and 161 out of 200 in General Knowledge.
Despite her commendable written exam performance, Monika only managed 15 marks in the interview. According to the SOG, Monika confessed to paying Kaleer Rs 15 lakh for the cheating scheme. When Kaleer was arrested, Monika, who was undergoing training at the Jaipur Police Academy, absconded.
Spelling Mistakes Raises Suspicions
Monika was on medical leave from June 5, 2024 to July 2, 2024, but failed to provide any medical documentation. When she submitted a handwritten Hindi application to join the Police Line Jhunjhunu on November 11, 2024, her lack of basic literacy became glaringly apparent.
The 20-line application was riddled with spelling mistakes, including basic words like ‘me’, ‘inspector’, ‘probationer’, ‘document’, and even ‘Jhunjhunu’.
