South Korea: Fire in the plane going to Hong Kong, 176 people were in flight; Learn how to survive


South Korean Passenger Plane: A fire incident occurred in the rear of a passenger aircraft on Tuesday night at Gimhe International Airport in South Korea. 176 people present in the aircraft were safely taken out. These included 169 passengers and 7 crew members.

According to the report of Yonhap News Agency, three people were marginally injured in the accident, but their condition is not critical. South Korea’s Transport Ministry reported that the incident occurred with an Air Busan aircraft, which was about to depart from the south-eastern city of Busan to Hong Kong. The fire broke out at around 10:15 pm (1315 GMT) before flying local time. However, the cause of the fire has not been known yet. It is a matter of relief that the fire was completely extinguished in time.

Accidents related to recent aircraft accidents
The incident occurred only a few weeks later when 181 people died in a deadly accident of Jeju Air aircraft at Muan International Airport. A Boeing 737-800 aircraft failed to open a landing gear in that accident, Due to which the aircraft slipped from the runway and hit the wall and caught fire. Most of the dead in that incident were South Korean citizens, while two Thai citizens were also among the victims. Later, the investigation report revealed that birds collided in the engine of the aircraft were found.

Investigation begins to find out the causes of the fire
The latest incident at Gimhe International Airport has raised questions about aviation security in South Korea, although the potential disaster was averted by taking out the passengers immediately in the incident. At present, investigation is going on to find out the cause of the fire.
