Parents dedicate their lives to raising their children. While a mother gives birth and nurtures the child through breastfeeding, a father often provides a steadfast, protective presence. Throughout their children’s lives, fathers strive to provide for their needs, finding profound satisfaction in fulfilling their wants and aspirations.
However, on the streets of Mumbai, a father who dedicated his life to raising his children was left abandoned and neglected in his old age.
Recently, an elderly man was observed on the streets near Dharavi, lying helpless and seemingly without sustenance. As his plight came to light, public sentiment turned against his children, who were perceived as neglectful and uncaring.
The elderly man shared that he was abandoned on the road by his two sons. One, he claims, has resided in London for the past four years, while the other works as a lawyer. Both, he alleges, have refused to care for him, leaving him with no choice but to resort to living on the streets.

Fortunately, an NGO discovered the elderly man and took him under their care. They provided him with a bath, fresh clothes, and accommodation.
Public outrage erupted upon witnessing the elderly man’s plight, abandoned in his twilight years. The father, who had dedicated his life’s earnings to his sons, was left destitute.
Gratitude poured in for the NGO that came to his aid, while condemnation fell upon his sons, labelled a stain on society. Many commented that those who subject their father to such treatment will inevitably face the same fate at the hands of their own children later in their lives.
