On the day of Dhanteras, people worship Lord Kuber and Goddess Lakshmi. Banks will remain closed in cities like Guwahati on this occasion. Apart from this, banks will remain open in all other cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Jaipur etc. October 18 is the third Saturday of the month, so it will be a full working day in banks. However, in view of the festive season in some cities, leave can be given after half day.

Where will banks remain closed on 20th October?

Kali Chaudas is on 19th October. Banks will remain closed as this day is Sunday. On October 20, on the day of Narak Chaturdashi (Chhota Diwali), Agartala, Ahmedabad, Aizawl, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Chennai, Dehradun, Gangtok, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Itanagar, Jaipur, Kanpur, Kochi, Kohima, Kolkata, Lucknow, New Delhi, Panaji, Patna, Raipur, Ranchi, Shillong, Shimla, Thiruvananthapuram and Banks will remain closed in cities like Vijayawada. At the same time, banks will remain open in Belapur, Bhubaneswar, Imphal, Jammu, Mumbai, Nagpur and Srinagar.

When will banks remain closed between 21-23 October?

Amavasya is on 21st October. This day is known as Diwali Snan, Diwali Devpuja. On this occasion, banks will remain closed in cities like Belapur, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Gangtok, Imphal, Jammu, Mumbai, Nagpur and Srinagar. Also, banks will remain closed in cities like Agartala, Ahmedabad, Aizawl, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Chennai, Dehradun, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Itanagar, Jaipur, Kanpur, Kochi, Kohima, Kolkata, Lucknow, New Delhi, Panaji, Patna, Raipur, Ranchi, Shillong, Shimla, Thiruvananthapuram and Vijayawada.

On 22nd October, there is Govardhan Puja, Annakoot, Bali Pratipada, Dyuta Krida and Gujarati New Year. Banks will remain closed on this day in cities like Ahmedabad, Belapur, Bengaluru, Dehradun, Gangtok, Jaipur, Kanpur, Lucknow, Mumbai and Nagpur. Banks will remain open in other cities.

23rd October is Bhai Bij/Bhai Dooj/Chitragupta Jayanti/Lakshmi Puja (Deepawali)/Bharatrividiya/Ningol Chakkauba. Banks will remain closed on this day in Ahmedabad, Gangtok, Imphal, Kanpur, Kolkata, Lucknow and Shimla. In other cities, banks will remain open as per the RBI list.
