The wildfires in Los Angeles, which ignited on Tuesday, have spread swiftly, consuming acres of land and homes in just two days. Despite ongoing efforts to contain the disaster, satellite images and videos paint a chilling picture of the extensive damage. The situation has been exacerbated by the Santa Ana winds and dry conditions, which have made the region even more susceptible to the flames, now raging through suburban areas, including those of several Hollywood stars.
With five fatalities so far and over 2,000 structures being reduced to ash, California Governor Gavin Newson has already declared a state of emergency. While the efforts remain underway to bring the ferocious fire under control, people being evacuated have managed to capture the harrowing footage of the flames gutting buildings and abandoned cars, and also the firefighters risking their lives to control the situation.
Several heart-wrenching videos that capture the fire, and its devastating aftermath have surfaced online.
A video has emerged showing a house in the Palisades being engulfed by roaring flames. In the clip, the homeowner records the fire from inside the house, even capturing the moment when the glass shatters.

A user shared several clips detailing the chaos caused by five wildfires that spread in just 36 hours, engulfing thousands of acres and forcing the displacement of lakhs of people.

The fire’s proximity also extended to some iconic landmarks including the Hollywood Sign, raising a public alarm in the country with residents even reporting visible flames from a far distance.
As per the Los Angeles Times, more than 1,00,000 residents have been evacuated under the administration orders with the wildfires burning across Los Angeles County amid red flag warnings in effect through Thursday. Firefighters also continue to battle multiple blazes overnight with the whipping winds fuelling major wildfires. The latest updates show Palisades being the worst affected with over 15,800 acres burning with numerous houses, businesses and landmarks engulfed.
