Water quality was bad in 2019 Kumbh
This is not the first time that such an issue has arisen. The CPCB report on Prayagraj Kumbh in 2019 stated that the quality of water was poor even during the main bathing days. 130.2 million Shraddhaul came to the 2019 Kumbh Mela. According to the report, the level of BOD and fecal coliform at Karsar Ghat was more than its limit. The BOD level was higher in the morning than in the evening during the main bathing days. The level of soluble oxygen in the Yamuna was according to the standards, but the PH, BOD and fecal coliform were more than the limit on different occasions.
