How to celebrate Sheetla Shashthi? Know the special tradition of Odisha
In Sambalpur, Odisha, this festival is celebrated as ‘Setal Shashthi Yatra’ as a five -day festival. The event begins with a ritual called ‘Patra Pedi’, where a local family is considered to be the maternal uncle of Mata Parvati.
In the next two days, Goddess Parvati has a symbolic farewell and a procession is taken out till the wedding venue. Hanuman ji and Narasimha Lord go ahead in Shiva’s procession.
