Sheikh Hasina on Bangladesh Situation : After the change of power in Bangladesh, Awami League leader and former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina spoke openly for the first time on Thursday (28 November) about the current situation of the country. Sheikh Hasina has called for the release of arrested ISKCON leader Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari without any delay.
In a statement issued by the Awami League, Sheikh Hasina said that a top leader of the Sanatan Dharma community has been unjustly arrested. He should be released immediately. A temple has been burnt in Chittagong. Before this, mosques, shrines, churches, monasteries and houses of the Ahmadiyya community were also attacked and vandalized. They were looted and burnt.
He further said that today teachers, lawyers and leaders are all being attacked in the country. Religious freedom and protection of life and property of all communities should be protected.
What did Sheikh Hasina say on the murder of the lawyer??
Sheikh Hasina condemned the killing of an assistant government lawyer in the communal clash that broke out in Chittagong on Tuesday (November 26). He said that a lawyer had gone to perform his professional duties and was beaten to death. Those who murdered the lawyer are terrorists and those involved in this murder should be found and brought to justice as soon as possible and punished.
Class of interim government of Muhammad Yunus was imposed
Sheikh Hasina has condemned the ongoing violence in Bangladesh and atrocities on Hindus and other minorities. Sheikh Hasina said that if the Yunus government, which unconstitutionally usurped power of the country, fails to punish these terrorists, then they will also have to face punishment for human rights violations. I appeal to the people of the country to unite against such terrorism and extremism.
