PM Modi will not be involved in UNGA meeting

Jaishankar will go to America. The 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly has started from 9 September and it will run from 23 to 29 September. The Brazilian leaders will address as the first speaker, after which US President Donald Trump will address global leaders on 23 September. On behalf of India, External Affairs Minister Jaishankar will address the session on 27 September.

Possibility of change in the list of speakers
Prime Minister Modi’s name was included in the list of speakers released in July to address the General Assembly on 26 September, but now it has been amended and given representation to External Affairs Minister Jaishankar. Apart from this, the Head of State of China, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Israel will give a speech at the United Nations General Assembly on 26 September. The session will begin on 22 September with a special meeting on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the United Nations.

Munir met Trump in June
