On Thursday (August 14, 2025), on the occasion of Independence Day of his country, Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif himself announced to create this new Army Rocket Force Command (ARFC).
According to the information, Pakistan is planning to create its rocket force on the lines of China’s PLA-Racate command as no defense system related to Pakistan’s air defense during Operation Sindoor was able to counter missiles like BrahMos and Scalp of India. At the same time, India had killed the missiles and rockets launched by Pakistan at the military bases of India.
After fully failed against India, Shahbaz Sharif has announced to create a rocket force command. However, Pakistan has no full command yet. The Pakistani Army, formed on the core formation, is formed due to geological area. On the other hand, the Indian Army focuses on seven different commands. In China’s PLA-Racate command, missiles are not part of the Army or Air Force but of a separate command. In such a situation, this rocket force command is the responsibility of launching all types of short distances to medium and long distance missiles.
During Operation Sindoor, the Indian Air Force completely destroyed the Muridke of Lashkar -e -Taiba and Jaish -e -Mohammed in Bahawalpur during Operation Sindoor. The Air Force Rafale (Rafale) fighter Jet played an important role in these attacks. Also, the BrahMos missile was used by the Air Force Sukhoi (Su-30 McEI) fighter jets to ruin the Pakistani Air Force airbase. India’s supersonic cruise missile failed to detect a single air defense missile in Pakistan.
Pakistan had used the Fateh missile for retaliation, but it was killed in the sky by India’s MRSM i.e. Medium Range Surface to Air Missile (Barak-8) in the sky. In such a situation, big questions are being raised on Pakistan’s missile and air defense system.
