Shab-e-BARAT 2025: How to spend the night of Shab-e-Baraat? What do Muslims do on this day?

Shab-E-Served 2025: Shab-e-Barat is considered a very important festival for the people of the Muslim community. It is also known by other names in different countries. Such as Shabe Baaraat, Lailatul procession in Rabi, Nisf Sayban in Indonesia and Malaysia are also known by names. Shab-e-Baraat is celebrated on the middle of the 14th and 15th of the month of Shaban (8th month of the Islamic calendar).

Shab-e-Barat starts from the 14th night of Shaban month and ends at the 15th dawn. This time, Shab -e -Jabrat will be celebrated on 13 February 2025 in 2025. Let’s know what is the importance of this festival in Islam and what people of Muslim community do this night.

Shab-e-Baaraat is the night of Magafirat

The night of Shab-e-Baaraat is also called Magafirat i.e. the night of forgiveness. Because on this day people wake up all night and pray to Allah, read Namaz and Quran and apologize for their sins. According to Islamic belief, Allah forgives all the sins of his bandh and confesses to pray. Therefore it is called Bakshish’s night or Magafirat’s night.

Islam mentions five such nights in which Allah hears every blessing of the bandh and forgive the crimes. Apart from Shab-e-Baaraat, Friday night, Eid-ul-Fitr night, Eid-ul-Aadha is the night before and the first night of Rajab. These five nights are considered to be an apology in Islam and spending time by reading Namaz-Kuran.

What do Muslims do at the night of Shab-e-Baaraat

• On the day of Shab-e-Baaraat, Muslims go to the grave of their ancestors after the prayers of Maghrib and pray for Magafirat. Along with the house, they clean the tomb of ancestors, offer flowers and burn incense sticks.
• On Shab-e-Baaraat, people go all night and pray to Allah in homes or mosques and apologize for crimes. For this, they recite Quran and Namaz.
• Some people also keep fast on Shab-e-Baaraat. Rosa is kept for two days in it. The first day of Shab-e-Baaraat and the second day the next day. However, it is not a duty but Nafil Rosa.
• Shab-e-Baraat is the night of the crimes. Along with worshiping Allah, people promise not to do wrong things on this day. Along with this, they also take out bailout according to their ability and sweet dishes are made in homes.
