
Kyushu Earthquake: Tremors of a massive earthquake were felt in Kyushu, Japan on Monday (January 13, 2025). Its intensity was estimated at 6.9 on the Richter scale. This information was given by Associated Press (AP) quoting the country’s meteorological agency. Authorities issued tsunami warnings for several areas, but there were no reports of any damage or casualties.
According to the European Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC), the depth of the earthquake was 37 kilometers. Earlier on August 8 last year, two powerful earthquakes of 6.9 and 7.1 magnitude had occurred in Japan, shaking the south-western islands of Kyushu and Shikoku.
