
Stock Market Closing On 24 October 2024: The Indian stock market also witnessed volatility in the trading session of Thursday 24 October 2024. Sensex-Nifty has closed flat due to this upheaval. But in today’s session, FMCG shares have been badly hit. The poor results of HUL have had an impact on the market. Midcap and smallcap stocks also closed falling. At the end of today’s trading, BSE Sensex closed at 80065 with a slight fall of 17 points and Nifty of National Stock Exchange closed at 24,399 points with a fall of 36 points. In today’s trading, the market cap of stocks listed on BSE closed at Rs 443.98 lakh crore, which was Rs 445.31 lakh crore in the previous session.

The major reason for the decline in the market has been FMCG stocks. Due to the disappointing results of HUL on Wednesday, Nifty’s FMCG index has seen a fall of 1700 points. Apart from this, shares of Auto, IT, Metals, Real Estate, Consumer Durables sectors closed with a decline. The booming sectors include banking, healthcare, pharma sector. Midcap and smallcap stocks again declined in today’s trading session.

Trading took place in 4033 stocks on BSE in which 1589 stocks closed with gains and 2344 stocks closed with decline. No change was seen in the prices of 104 shares. Out of 30 shares of BSE, 19 shares closed with gains and 11 closed with losses. Of the 50 Nifty stocks, 26 closed with gains and 24 closed with losses.
Among the rising stocks, UltraTech Cement closed with a rise of 2.77 per cent, Titan 1.37 per cent, Mahindra & Mahindra 1.35 per cent, SBI 1.15 per cent, Adani Ports 1.02 per cent, Power Grid 0.85 per cent, HDFC Bank 0.83 per cent, Sun Pharma 0.78 per cent. Among the falling stocks, HUL closed with a fall of 5.83 percent, Nestle 2.88 percent, ITC 1.81 percent, Maruti 1.61 percent.
