
India wicket-keeper batter Sanju Samson is set to feature in the upcoming season of the Kerala Cricket League (KCL).
Kerala Cricket Association governing council chairman Nazir Machan confirmed to Sportstar on Monday that Samson has signed up for the upcoming KCL auction, which will be held on July 5.
The Rajasthan Royals skipper, who missed the first season last year, will be a part of the 39-player Category A pool in the auction, which also has IPL star Vignesh Puthur and Kerala Ranji captain Sachin Baby.

Going into the auction, each team will be allowed to retain a maximum of four players. This can include a maximum of three capped players — Those who have represented the state in at least one Ranji Trophy, Syed Mushtaq Ali or Vijay Hazare match, or have played in the IPL or for India under-19.
Teams who opt not to use a player retention slot will gain a Right-To-Match card. The uncapped/capped player rule will also extend to RTMs.
KCA has set June 30, 5 PM IST, as the deadline for player retentions.
Each team will have a purse of Rs. 50 lakhs in the player auction, and will have to structure a squad of at least 16 players and at most 20.
Aries Kollam Sailors is the defending KCL champion, after it beat Calicut Globstars by six wickets in the final in September last year.
