Sana Yousaf, a 17-year-old Pakistani social media influencer, has been shockingly killed inside her home in Islamabad. Known for having a prominent internet presence with her TikTok and Instagram content, Yousaf was reportedly shot at close range by one of her relatives, resulting in her death. As per reports, the attacker was a guest at her home. After having a brief conversation outside, the man entered the house and shot her twice and fled the scene.
While the matter is under investigation, Sana Yousaf’s last Instagram post has grabbed the internet’s attention. Days before the fatal shooting, Yousaf celebrated her 17th birthday, with the video showing glimpses from her intimate and small party. The video, which appears to have been shared just a few hours before her death, shows Yousaf quite cheerful and happy with her friends and close ones. Dressed in a simple white shirt with a brown skirt, Yousaf could be seen cutting a cake and enjoying good food at a restaurant.
Soon after the news of her passing emerged, many took to the comment section to drop shocked reactions and offer condolences. One wrote, “Can’t believe this. May her soul rest in peace,” while another added, “May her soul rest in peace.”
Another comment read, “This is so awful. A literal 17-year-old with so much innocence, killed for what?” Another one shared concerns with the comment, “Nobody is safe in this country! This is so heartbreaking!!”
Sana Yousaf was quite active on Instagram and would often share videos and content to keep her followers updated. As the daughter of social activist Farzana Yousof, the 17-year-old would also use her platform to share messages of youth expression and women’s empowerment. The sudden turn of events has now shocked the nation, once again reigniting discussions on the safety of social media influencers, especially women.

The grave murder of the 17-year-old Sana Yousuf has sparked strong reactions on the internet, including calls for justice from Pakistani celebrities like Mahira Khan, Sajal Aly, Mawra Hocane and Saba Qamar, among others.
As per the local news, Islamabad Police have arrested the main suspect in the case. Islamabad IG Syed Ali Nasir, in a press conference, confirmed the same, stating that the culprit was a 22-year-old man who carried out the act after facing “repeated rejections.” Identified as Umar Hayat, the man entered Yousaf’s residence under the pretense of a visit and ended up killing her, as per Gulf News. CCTV footage from the site confirmed his presence, and the police eventually arrested him in Faisalabad.
