Comedian Samay Raina, who is facing a lot of heat due to India’s Got Latent controversy, has dropped a short message for his special fans on YouTube. The 27-year-old’s show made it to the headlines after Ranveer Allahbadia passed an “indecent” remark about parents and sex.
In the “Members Only” post, Samay shared a red heart emoji along with a virtual hug denoting solidarity and supposedly, love for his fans. No image or video was attached to it. One of his paid subscribers took a screenshot of the post and shared it on Reddit. It showed the post had collected nearly 7,000 likes and more than 2,400 comments in just one minute. “Is there a bigger Internet personality currently?” the user wrote in the caption.
The Reddit post attracted reactions from many on social media. A user cheered, “Let’s go. I hope he is doing well.” Another hoped, “The comeback should be crazy.” “I’m missing India’s Got Latent,” added a person.
A fan hailed Samay as the “supreme leader.” “The time (Samay) has come,” read a remark. A user shared a screengrab of some comments from Samay’s YouTube post. In one of them, a fan said, “Your comeback story should be one that a generation should remember. Your comedy is an incredible driver that comes with powerful lessons of tolerance.”
Another comment read, “Standing with you forever, Samay. Just remember, Tu Samay hai (you’re the time).” An individual added, “Lots of love, my brother.” Those who were not on the members list showed their support in the Reddit post which has amassed thousands of upvotes.
Earlier, Samay Raina, who has been touring Canada for his show Samay Raina Unfiltered, made a light-hearted comment on the controversy. He was performing at the Myer Horowitz Theater in Edmonton, Canada.
