Tiger sightings can be common, but witnessing a fight between two dominant females is nearly unheard of. Now, an old video of two tigresses engaged in a fierce fight at Maharashtra’s Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve has reappeared on social media, leaving viewers amazed. The tigresses are seen in a dramatic confrontation while onlookers watch from a safe distance in this furious encounter captured on camera by safari tourists. To move away from the tense scene, another group of tourists is seen in the video carefully reversing their jeep. As the dramatic showdown played out directly in front of their vehicles, visitors were lucky enough to record it on camera.
Reportedly, the fight happened in the Khursapar zone’s famed Chaipatti region, which is known for its abundant wildlife. The tigresses in the video are – Veera and Bhela. They got into a fierce fight after what started as a territorial battle, reports added. As their roars reverberated throughout the forest, the tension in the air caused the animals in the area to go into a frenzy.
The video was recently posted on Ranthambore National Park’s Instagram account with the caption – “Tiger fighting in the Forest”. Shared on November 9, the clip has collected over 43,000 views.
The once-in-a-lifetime spectacle has also attracted several comments.

“That was a long fight,” another stated.
Reports stated that the Maharashtra Forest Department’s X account was the first to share the video in February.
One of India’s 47 Project Tiger reserves is Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve, the largest and oldest national park in Maharashtra. It is almost 150 kilometres from Nagpur city and is situated in the Chandrapur district. Sloth bears, Indian leopards, gaurs, nilgai, small Indian civets, sambar, barking deer and chital are among the numerous animals that call the Tadoba Tiger Reserve home.
