In a bizarre incident in Haryana’s Faridabad, thieves targeted a house and made off with Rs 9 lakh worth of goods, including a surprising 150 kg of women’s hair valued at Rs 7 lakh.
The police were astonished upon learning the value of the stolen hair. The victim, in his complaint, revealed that he operates a wig-making business and procures women’s hair as raw material. Along with the hair, the thieves also stole Rs 2 lakh in cash.
The incident reportedly took place between 2:30am and 3am on the night of January 14-15, 2025.
According to complainant Ranjit Mandal, the perpetrators gained access to the house via the stairs, forced open a room’s lock, and absconded with the hair and cash.
Mandal explained that old hair serves as crucial raw material for his products, which include wigs and hair extensions, enjoying high demand in both domestic and international markets.
