RIL’s subsidiary company NTPL acquires 10% equity stake in Nauyan Shipyard


Mukesh Abk: Mukesh Ambani, Asia’s richest person with the country’s well-known business tycoon and assets worth more than Rs 9,100 crore, is increasing his scope in the shipping industry. His company Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), a subsidiary of Reliance Industries Limited (NTPL), has increased its 10 percent and stake in Nauyan Shipyard Private Limited (NSPL). For this, RIL has made a deal with Welspun Corp Limited (WCL) for Rs 51.72 crore. With this deal, Reliance Industries has indicated a comprehensive strategy to diversify its business portfolio.

Reliance confidence in shipbuilding industry

In the documents submitted to the Regulatory Authority, Reliance said, “A complete-owned subsidiary navi trading, private limited (NTPL) has informed the company that it today has informed the company in a steps-down subsidy navi shipyard private limited (NSPL) at a total price of Rs 51.72 crore from Welspon Corp Limited today. The acquisition of percentage additional equity share has been completed.

RIL gave information in stock filing exchange

Reliance confirmed the completion of this transaction in Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and National Stock Exchange (NSE). Savitri Parekh, a company secretary and company secretary of Reliance Industries Limited, said, “The acquisition of this additional share in the navi shipyard reflects the constant confidence of Reliance in the development capacity of the shipbuilding industry.” Earlier in the end of March, NATPL Limited (NTPL) from Naune Trading Private Limited in the end of March (NSPL )’s 74 percent equity stake was completed for around Rs 383 crore.
