Remove the first four employees then recruit one. US President Donald Trump has said this to Federal agencies. Donald Trump has ordered the Federal agencies to prepare a roadmap for widespread retrenchment of government employees. He has asked only a quarter of the people to recruit in all the departments, that is, if four people are removed, only one recruitment will be done.
According to Bloomberg, Donald Trump has advised the heads of all government agencies to work with his friend and billionaire businessman Elon Musk. Alan Musk has been given the responsibility of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) by the Trump government. Federal agencies have been asked to coordinate with DOGE so that the number of government employees can be reduced and recruitment can be limited to major positions.
Ever since Donald Trump came to power, he has been taking new steps to reduce government expenditure. The report, citing the white house fact sheet, said that Donald Trump has directed all agency Heads to coordinate from Allen Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
It was told in the fact sheet that the agencies are allowed to replace only one officer in place of four employees. Meaning if one is to recruit, then the first four employees should be removed. However, some departments have been excluded from it. For example, agencies with law enforcement, national security, immigration and public safety have been exempted from it. It is not clear whether DOGE has the right to pruning largely in government departments.
Donald Trump says that Doge has revealed billions of rupees wastage, fraud and misuse. At the same time, Alan Musk has said without any evidence that there is a lack of basic control in the system of Treasury Department. He has also posted several posts on social media platform X regarding the waste and fraud of government treasury. He said that some of the claims made by him can also be wrong, so they can investigate them.
Allen Musk is considered to be behind this decision to reduce the number of government employees. Under the federal law, the job of private employees is also safe, but now there is a big threat to private employees.
