Relations between Russia and India will become stronger, President Putin said during his meeting with PM Modi


BRICS Summit 2024 Live Update: Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Kazan, Russia on Tuesday (22 October 2024) to participate in the 16th BRICS summit. He left India at around 7:40 in the morning. His plane landed in Kazan at around 1:30 in the afternoon.  

PM Modi was warmly welcomed upon reaching Kazan. He will participate in the BRICS summit organized under the chairmanship of Russia and will stay in Russia for two days. The Prime Minister is also expected to hold bilateral meetings with his counterparts from BRICS member countries. This is Modi’s second visit to Russia in the year 2024, before which he had gone to Moscow in July to participate in the 22nd India-Russia Annual Summit.

Will meet Putin today

PM Modi can hold a bilateral meeting with Russian President Putin today. In this, various issues related to both the countries will be discussed. On the other hand, China’s Foreign Ministry has announced that President Xi Jinping will participate in the summit being chaired by Russia. In such a situation, it is possible that there may be a meeting between PM Modi and Xi Jinping. However, there is no official confirmation about the meeting between him and Modi.
