Demonstrating something similar, a short video clip showing a young girl slapping her mother is making the rounds on social media.
The controversial reel, posted by Instagram user Sanaya Ranjan, has been widely criticised as disgusting and a dangerous example for viewers. The video initially appears to be a light-hearted, scripted interaction between the mother and daughter. However, the tone takes a sharp turn when the little munchkin, after delivering a line, slaps her mother on camera.

As soon as the clip went viral, the viral footage prompted an outpouring of negative comments from displeased viewers. Many users have expressed their concern about the message the video conveys; others stressed that content creators should exercise more responsibility, warning that the pursuit of views should not come at the expense of normalising disrespectful behaviour towards elders. Till now, it has mustered more than 5 million views and over 2 lakh likes.
“Don’t teach your daughter bad manners in a joking manner,” said a user.
Another added, “Didn’t find this reel funny,” directly expressing his displeasure.
“This is getting mannerless day by day. What are you teaching your child for the sake of content? Disgusting,” a user said.
An account remarked, “Yaar Bache Ko Reels Ke Chhakkar Mein Violence Na Sikhao (Just for Reels, Don’T Teach Violence to Your Children.”
“Not good…keep your kids away from mobile and social media. Also, to teach them to slap your mom or elders, even though it’s reel/acting, it’s not good,” echoed another individual.
The Instagram reel proves how insensitive some people have become that they could go to any extent to gain views.
