A Rapido driver has been hailed as a hero on the Internet after helping a pregnant woman deliver her baby inside his cab. The driver, identified as Vikas, was on his way to drop the woman and her husband at the hospital when she went into labour. Vikas sensed the urgency and stepped in to assist with the delivery before ensuring they safely reached the hospital later that night.
The heartwarming story was shared on Reddit by a man who had booked the ride for his cook and his pregnant wife.
“I booked a rapido for my cook as his wife was pregnant….. She was in a lot of pain while going to the hospital and couldn’t bear the pain and delivered the baby boy in the car itself. The driver helped the cook deliver the baby and took them to hospital afterwards. He even charged the amount which was showing in the app, and didn’t even ask for extra money,” the Reddit user Rohan Mehra wrote on the platform.

He added, “As a gesture to his humanity, we would like to do something for the driver but we couldn’t find his number after the ride ended as we didn’t call him before. I would like to request Rapido and Pavan Guntupalli to help us to reach that driver.”
Mehra also shared a screenshot of the ride details to aid in locating the driver. The cab was booked on February 19 at 11 PM, picking up the couple from Dundahera, Surya Vihar in Sector 21, Gurugram, and dropping them off at Vikas Nagar in Sector 10, Gurugram.
Heartwarming, isn’t it?
Turns out, many on the Internet felt the same way.
“This was wholesome,” wrote on Reddit user. Another joined, “A whole movie dude! God bless the driver and everyone.”

Others recommended reaching out to Rapido’s customer support to track down the driver. “Pro tip: Go to help section in my rides history -> I lost an item in the cab -> Create support ticket-> Automated support bot will share captain contact.”
