The Maharashtra cyber cell has issued a summons to actor Rakhi Sawant who appeared on Samay Raina’s now-deleted YouTube reality show India’s Got Latent. Bigg Boss contestant was a panellist on the 12th episode of the show, alongside YouTuber Aashish Solanki, comedian Maheep Singh, rapper Yashraj and The Habitat owner Balraj Singh Ghai. The actor will record her statement with the Cyber Cell on February 27.
YouTubers Ashish Chanchlani and Ranveer Allahabadia are also set to record their statements with the Maharashtra Cyber Cell on February 24. Chanchlani has approached the Supreme Court to quash or transfer a Guwahati FIR accusing him of promoting obscenity to Mumbai.
SC has taken note of YouTuber Ashish Chanchlani’s plea and issued a notice to the states of Maharashtra and Assam, seeking their response on the matter. The apex court has also decided to tag Chanchlani’s plea with a similar plea filed by YouTuber Ranveer Allahabadia.
Additionally, the Cyber Cell will issue a second summons to comedian Samay Raina after he failed to appear for his scheduled statement recording on February 18.
“Maharashtra Cyber Cell sent a summons to Rakhi Sawant,” reported news agency ANI.

India’s Got Latent Row
It all began when Ranveer Allahbadia asked a contestant an inappropriate question on the members-only episode of India’s Got Latent: “Would you rather watch your parents have sex or join them?” The question, borrowed from another YouTube show and approved by the panel, was met with laughter from the audience and was entertained by the contestant. However, it triggered outrage once the episode went live.
In response to the backlash, Ranveer Allahbadia issued a public apologyacknowledging a “lapse of judgment” and urging the show’s makers to remove the controversial segment.
Although the segment was deleted, the outrage persisted, leading to multiple complaints and FIRs against Samay Raina and others. The Indian government later directed YouTube to take down the entire episode.
As the controversy escalated, Raina deleted all episodes of the show from YouTube.
“Everything that is happening has been too much for me to handle. I have removed all Indias Got Latent videos from my channel. My only objective was to make people laugh and have a good time. I will fully cooperate with all agencies to ensure their inquiries are concluded fairly. Thank you,” he posted on his social media platforms.
