A policeman was killed in a shootout of unknown assailants on Monday morning in the northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. The incident took place in Khyber district at around 9:20 am local time, where a policeman on duty was targeted under the Polio Vaccination Campaign. Sources said that the attackers ran away from the spot by snatching the policeman’s submissin gun.
No group has taken responsibility for this attack yet. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), polio is a highly infectious disease caused by the virus. It invades the nervous system and can cause complete paralysis in a few hours. Its early symptoms are fever, fatigue, headache, vomiting, neck stiffness and organs pain.
