PM Modi Lex Fridman Podcast: Prime Minister Narendra Modi China has given positive response to the statement made in Lex Fridman Podcast. The Chinese Foreign Ministry praised Prime Minister Modi’s remarks for strengthening India-China relations and said to carry forward cooperation between the two countries.

In fact, Prime Minister Modi had said during the podcast that competition should not be converted into struggle and differences should not be transformed into controversy. Giving historical references, he said that India and China have learned from each other for centuries and have contributed to global good.

PM Modi’s statement on India-China relations
PM Modi said, “If you look at the historical records, India and China have contributed significantly to the global economy. At one time the two countries jointly had more than 50% share in global GDP. Our relations have been very deep culturally.” He admitted that there are some differences between India and China, but it is necessary to ensure that they do not turn into a dispute.

China’s response
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Mao Ning said on Monday (March 17, 2025) that China has seen and appreciates Prime Minister Modi’s statement. He talked about continuing cooperation towards making India-China relations stable and strong.

Mao Ning said, “India and China should become partners who contribute to each other’s success, cooperation between elephants and dragons is the only option for the two countries.” He also said that the meeting of Prime Minister Modi and President Xi Jinping in Kazan, Russia gave a strategic guidance to improve bilateral relations.

Trying to give a new direction to India-China relations
The Chinese spokesperson said that China wants to further strengthen relations with India by taking the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations as an opportunity. He said that both countries can move towards stable and solid development.
