Ranveer Allahbadia-Samay Raina Controversy: The Mumbai Police on Friday said that YouTuber and Podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia, has been unreachable, with his phone switched off and his residence was locked.

The cops said that they tried to contact the Youtuber after he skipped the second summon to appear for questioning at Khar Police Station, following the controversy surrounding his ‘watch parents have sex’ remark in “India’s Got Latent” show, on Friday.

Earlier today, Allahbadia, popularly known by his online moniker “BeerBiceps,” approached the Supreme Court seeking relief against multiple FIRs filed against him in various states over the alleged obscene comments.

Allahbadia, through his lawyer Abhinav Chandrachud, filed a petition in the Supreme Court seeking the consolidation of FIRs filed against him across different states.

He also applied for an anticipatory bail, seeking protection from any coercive action fearing a possible action by the Guwahati police, who had also summoned him in connection with the same case.

Earlier, he had urged the Mumbai’s Khar Police to record his statement at his residence instead of police station. However, police did not accept his request and asked him to appear before them at Khar Police station.

Legal Woes For Allahbadia

The Mumbai Police has recorded statements of at least six people in connection with the case, while the Cyber Cell has filed cases against over 30 people.

The Guwahati Police Registered An Fir Under Multiple Sections of The Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) Against Samay Raina and All Judges on the Show, Including Ranveer Allahbadia, J. Orva makhija.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma while confirming the development, said, “The FIR accuses them of promoting obscenity and engaging in sexually explicit discussions.”

Maharashtra Minister Ashish Shelar has also ordered an inquiry by the cultural department officials into the ongoing controversy. As per the minister’s office, complaints have been received by the department about vulgarity in India’s Got Latent and other such shows are being run with tickets to the audience without proper permission. A meeting was convened in the department which was chaired by Shelar and he has ordered a detailed inquiry after the meeting.

Maharashtra Cyber Cell on Tuesday registered an FIR against more than 30 people related to the YouTube show ‘India’s Got Latent.’ The authorities also asked the creators to remove all videos of the show from social media.

Additionally, the National Commission for Women (NCW) has called in Allahbadia, Raina, and several others for questioning following the controversy. The hearing will take place at the NCW office in New Delhi on February 17.

The YouTuber and podcaster triggered a massive row after he asked a contestant about the “size of his p****” and even offered Rs 2 crore if he “sucked his d***”. But he didn’t stop there. He went on to pose an outrageous question lifted from a recent episode of a YouTube show. The question was: “Watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life. Or would you join in once and stop it forever?”

“My comment wasn’t just inappropriate, it wasn’t even funny. Comedy is not my forte. I am just here to say sorry,” said Allahbadia after his questions and remarks sparked outrage on social media.
