People of Karnataka are suffering in the clutches of cyber robbers, they are looting Rs 7 lakh every hour.


Karnataka: The IT capital of the country, Bengaluru, where most of the IT smart people of India live, is also the capital of the state of Karnataka. In the state of the most cyber smart people, where the IT industry is progressing by leaps and bounds, the dangerous shadow of cyber robbers is also spreading. Many times it seems that Kannadigas (residents of Karnataka) are writhing in the clutches of cyber theft. Cyber ​​robbers are extorting seven lakh rupees every hour from the people here. The number of such looted people is increasing in the IT hub of the country. In the last 11 months alone, cyber criminals have victimized 20,875 people. The hard earned money of these people has been looted to the tune of Rs 2047 crore 20 lakh. In the last six years i.e. from January 2019 to November 2024, Rs 3595 crore 40 lakh have been lost.

From digital arrest to FedEx scam, it is prevalent

In Karnataka, cyber robbers are trapping people in various disguises. These include everything from digital arrest to FedEx scam. Under Fedex scam, you get a call saying that the goods sent for you are stuck in customs clearance. This much amount is required to rescue it. Innocent people get trapped in the words of these fraudsters. Then as soon as they send the money, it becomes a dilemma for them. Because, this amount never comes back. When they file an FIR, the police makes fun of the stupidity of such people. Apart from this, people are becoming victims of hair-raising frauds ranging from OTP fraud to trading scams.

Government is giving instructions not to share OTP and password

People who have been cheated by cyber criminals are advised not to share OTP or password in future. Policemen also do the same and consider their work completed. Nevertheless, according to the statistics of the Union Home Ministry, cyber crimes are increasing in Karnataka as well as in the entire country.
