Lord Shri Krishna had told Samba that Suryadev is the only visible god, that is, the Sun is visible to us. All the wishes of those who worship Surya with devotion are fulfilled by Sun God.

There is a religious belief that by fasting on Sunday and offering sesame-rice khichdi to the Sun, a person becomes radiant.
