Pakistan’s ‘No’ action, airstrike on Afghanistan just hours after ceasefire extension



According to Afghan media, Pakistani Army has conducted an air strike in Paktika province of Afghanistan some time ago. This attack happened at a time when the 48-hour ceasefire between the two countries ended at 6:30 pm today. Although Pakistani media had claimed that the ceasefire has been extended till the proposed talks in Doha, but despite this the Pakistani Army carried out air action across the border.

Drone attacks at three places
According to preliminary information, Pakistani Army carried out drone attacks at three places on the Paktika-South Waziristan border. According to Tolo News, one of these attacks was carried out on the homes of civilians and two attacks were carried out on the military bases of the Afghan Taliban.

Taliban enraged by Pakistan’s bombing
After Pakistan’s air strike, Taliban has reacted strongly and threatened to retaliate. A senior Taliban official told AFP that Pakistan had violated the ceasefire by attacking border areas. “Pakistan has violated the ceasefire and bombed three places in Paktika province. Afghanistan will respond to this,” the official said on condition of anonymity.

Consensus was reached on extending the ceasefire
Earlier, an agreement was reached between Pakistan and Afghanistan to extend the 48-hour ceasefire. According to reports, this temporary ceasefire was going to continue till the outcome of the talks in Doha.

Preparations for talks continue in Doha
According to sources, the Pakistani delegation has already reached Doha, while the Afghan delegation is scheduled to reach the Qatari capital on Saturday. A bloody conflict has been going on between the Taliban and Pakistani forces for the last few days on the Durand Line. Dozens of people have died and hundreds have been injured in a week, due to which the situation is getting worse. Earlier, both the countries had also claimed to appeal to each other to stop attacks on each other regarding ceasefire.
