A Hindu Pakistani resident came up with an Instagram video supporting the Indian armed forces following Operation Sindoor.
The clip rebuffed claims and propaganda spread on the Pakistani side.
Abhay, a Hindu man living in Pakistan, went against his government’s propaganda and raised support for the Indian armed forces amid escalations and cross-border tensions this week. As the Indian army provided a befitting response to Pakistani drones and missiles aimed at cities in the Indian territory, several popular social media accounts from Pakistan voiced in support of the Pakistan armed forces and spread lies about India’s retaliation act.
But Abhay stood out for speaking the truth with honesty and courage in a viral Instagram video as he called the Indian response their “right” to avenge the innocent lives lost in a cowardly attack by Pakistan-backed terrorists in Pahalgam on April 22. The Indian armed forces launched missiles on nine specific terrorist camps based in Pakistan and the Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir on the night of May 7-8 as part of their ‘Operation Sindoor’.
“I am a Pakistani and I will say it straight: India had every right to hit back. First, you (Pakistan) attack their people and when they respond suddenly it’s about ‘peace’ and ‘human rights’,” said Abhay in the viral video, brushing aside Pakistani claims that India’s retaliation act carried motives of breaking peace in Pakistan and involved human rights violations near the border region. Abhay went to the extent of saying Pakistan breeds terrorism and called out the hypocrisy observed on the other side of the border.
“But where was that same energy when twenty-six innocent lives were lost (in Pahalgam). Now, when India hits back, Pakistan suddenly starts playing the victim card. And yes, no one prefers war. Neither India nor Pakistan. But when you start breeding terrorism, don’t act surprised when it comes back your way. And it is easy to preach peace when it is not your people getting killed. Finally, let’s not forget that India never started this; they just responded, and to me, that is not an act of war. That is just justice.”
The Pakistani Hindu man’s open support for the Indian armed forces found mixed responses on the internet. While Indian users lauded Abhay for standing up against his country’s army and government claims, Pakistani users were far from pleased with his words. Some Indian users even worried about Abhay’s safety and life in Pakistan following the video post.
